You see them *everywhere* now, right? That iconic Goyard print plastered on, well, anything people can get their hands on. But did you ever stop to wonder how much that custom Goyard shoe will cost you?
Frankly, it’s kinda nuts.
So, yeah, you wanna get your feet laced with some Goyard drip? Cool, cool. But remember all those listings for “Goyard sneakers selection for the very best in unique or custom, handmade pieces?” Yeah, that means someone’s probably gonna take a pair of perfectly good (probably expensive) sneakers and… well, *Goyard-ify* them.
Which, honestly, is both cool and kinda… cringe? Depends on the execution, I guess. I saw one post by Summar Alraziqi that they say is a “unique limited edition custom shoe concept designed,” which sounds pretty fancy. Italian leather even. Classy… if you can pull it off.
Then you get the other end of the spectrum. The “CREATE YOUR OWN AIR FORCE 1” vibe. Which, hey, no judgement, everyone starts somewhere. But slapping a Goyard print on some AF1s doesn’t automatically make you a fashion god. Just sayin’. Especially if you’re using some janky online shoe editor and the image looks all pixelated. Yikes.
The Bondeno® Bespoke thing? “These shoes cannot be washed in a machine- hand wash only” LOL as if you’d throw these in the wash anyway. And the size thing! Oh man, you *gotta* get the sizing right. Imagine dropping a fortune on these bad boys and they don’t even fit. Disaster.
And then there’s the whole ethical dilemma. Are you supporting actual artists and craftspeople when you buy these custom kicks? Or are you just feeding into the hype beast machine and supporting someone who’s… well, let’s just say “borrowing” the Goyard aesthetic without actually, you know, *being* Goyard.
I mean, someone mentioned people like Christopher Wanton making custom Goyard Vans. Props to them for getting creative. I’m just throwing thoughts out there.
