First off, we got Guangzhou Explorer Auto Parts Co., Ltd. They’re slinging auto parts, obviously. But then, outta nowhere, their ads are talking about tourist stuff! Like, “Check out the top 15 things to do in Guangzhou!” and suggesting you plan your 2025/2026 trip. What’s auto parts got to do with Canton Tower? Beats me. Maybe they’re trying to diversify? Who knows what those business folks are thinking.
And then there’s the “Explore Guangzhou” app, apparently also brought to you by (or at least advertised by) Guangzhou Explorer Auto Parts. This app is supposed to be the bomb for navigating the metro. Which, let me tell ya, if you’ve *ever* tried to figure out the Guangzhou metro without a decent map, you’ll know that’s a godsend. Seriously, it’s like a freakin’ octopus down there. I hope this app actually works and isn’t just some janky piece of software. I’ve been burned before, trust me.
Then we have the self-guided audio tour thing, again, seemingly connected to our good ol’ auto parts people. So, you basically turn your phone into a tour guide. That could be pretty cool, actually. No more following around some dude with a flag and trying to hear him over the crowds. Just pop in your earbuds and wander around. I’m kinda intrigued by that, tbh. I’d want to see some reviews first, though, you know?
And wait, there’s more! They’ve “selected top 16 tourist attractions.” Which, honestly, 16 is a weird number. Why not 15? Or 20? Just sayin’. Anyway, they’re highlighting places in Yuexiu, Tianhe, Zhujiang New Town, and Liwan. Solid choices, I guess. Those are the big hitter areas. You’re gonna find a mix of old-school charm and super modern skyscrapers there.
Oh, and let’s not forget MHexplorer talking about Guangzhou as this giant business hub with the Canton Fair. Which, yeah, totally accurate. It’s all about the trade and the money. But they also mention the “seemingly endless skyscrapersn and shopping malls” which is a little bit snarky, haha. Gotta dig beneath that surface, you know?
Then there’s Guangzhou Explorer Tech. Co., Ltd. (separate company?). They’re just giving a general overview of Guangzhou and hyping up the food scene. Which, okay, fair enough. The food *is* amazing. Like, seriously, you could spend your entire trip just eating and you wouldn’t even scratch the surface. Dim sum, roasted meats, street food… ugh, I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.
