But, based on the other stuff I’ve been reading (and lemme tell ya, it’s a wild ride out there in the sneaker world!), figuring out if *any* online retailer is slinging fake kicks is a real pain in the butt. You gotta be like, a detective or something.
First off, let’s think about the big boys. People are always asking if Zappos sells fakes, and the general consensus seems to be “nah, they’re legit.” Which is good, ’cause Zappos is pretty reputable. But even then, there’s always that nagging doubt, right? Especially when you hear about people pulling the ol’ switcheroo – buying real shoes, then returning a super convincing fake. Sneaky, I tell ya!
And then there’s StockX. The comments on Reddit are all over the place. Some people swear they’re legit, others are screaming about getting burned with reps (that’s short for “replicas,” for all you newbies). It’s like, a total gamble!
Amazon? That’s another can of worms. If it’s “Sold and Shipped by Amazon,” you *probably* good. But if it’s a third-party seller? Whoa there, slow down! You gotta be extra careful. Those third-party sellers can be shady as all get out.
Flight Club… well, at least *that’s* generally seen as legit. But even then, the internet is full of fake websites trying to trick you, so you gotta have your wits about you.
So, back to Abooss. Since I’ve literally never heard of them, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say… proceed with caution. Like, *serious* caution. Here’s my (totally unprofessional) advice:
* Google them. Like, *really* google them. Look for reviews, complaints, anything. If there’s nothing, that’s a red flag right there.
* Check their website. Does it look professional? Or like it was built by a 12-year-old in his basement? (No offense to 12-year-olds in basements, some of you are probably coding geniuses).
* Look at the prices. If they’re too good to be true, they probably are. Real Jordans aren’t going to be selling for $50. Duh.
* Payment methods. If they’re only accepting wire transfers or something weird, run away!
* Trust your gut. Seriously. If something feels off, it probably is.
Honestly, I’d probably stick to the more well-known retailers, even with the potential for sketchiness. Or, even better, buy directly from the brand itself. It might cost a little more, but at least you know you’re getting the real deal.
