First off, ThreeShoes – yeah, real original name there guys – just launched this “Tramezza Custom Made to Order” thing. Basically, you can tweak EVERYTHING. Like, buckle finishes? Shoe width? Seriously? I didn’t even *know* shoe width was a thing people customized. Mind blown.
Then there’s the whole “Customise your own Tramezza” deal. Four models, five materials… okay, that’s getting a little more interesting. Crocodile leather? Alright, alright, I see you, Ferragamo. You’re trying to tempt me into bankruptcy. They got Baron, Barclay, Brighton, Ronald models. Hmmm. Ronald… that sounds a bit… idk, too friendly for a shoe, right? I’d probably choose Barclay sounds more classy if you ask me.
But hold up, there’s MORE. ADORSI is doing custom Ferragamo-adjacent shoes. Made in Spain, bespoke, the whole nine yards. See, this is where it gets fuzzy for me. Are these REAL Ferragamos? Or just…inspired by Ferragamo? I mean, the description says “custom-tailored bespoke shoes for men that are made especially for you,” but… the Ferragamo name is there… I’m confuzzled.
And then there’s Robert Mathews Custom, doing Oxfords, Monkstraps, and Monkstrap Boots. Classic, can’t go wrong there, I guess. But again, where does the actual Ferragamo come in? It doesn’t seem to be related.
Oh! Wait, back to the actual Ferragamo thing, the “Made to Order Tramezza” *thing*. They’re using Microsoft Azure Cloud and HoloLens 2 for the online experience. Okay, NOW we’re talking! Holograms?! For shoes?! That’s some futuristic, Jetson’s-level stuff right there. I mean, I’m still not entirely sold on the *need* for custom buckles, but seeing a shoe in holographic form before I drop a small fortune on it? I’m listening.
Honestly though, this whole thing is a bit of a jumbled mess. We got actual Ferragamo doing custom stuff, other companies *sounding* like they might be doing custom Ferragamo stuff, and then holograms thrown in for good measure. What’s a person to make of it all?
