I was poking around, you know, doing some “research” (read: online window shopping when I should be working), and I noticed Givenchy keeps popping up. Skirts, tops, jackets… the whole shebang. And the word “luxury” is thrown around a lot. Which, duh, Givenchy.
But like, *what* kind of luxury are we talking about here? Is it the kind where everything’s super fussy and you can’t actually *move* in the clothes? Or is it that kinda sleek, modern thing where you look effortlessly chic even though you spent more on your outfit than I make in a month? (Okay, maybe two months. Don’t judge my shopping habits).
The descriptions are all about “timeless elegance” and “modernity.” Which, honestly, is kinda vague. Like, every brand says that, right? But skimming through, I saw this sweatshirt – a “GIVENCHY Reverse slim fit sweatshirt in fleece.” Okay, fleece? So, comfy? But also, CA$ 1,300?!?! My brain kinda short-circuited for a sec. That’s a *lot* of money for a sweatshirt, even if it *is* Givenchy.
Then there’s the jacket/coat situation. Apparently, they “embody the elegance and…” and then it cuts off. Like, what’s the rest of it?! Elegance and… what? Spontaneity? Chaos? Elegance and the ability to ward off existential dread? I need to know!
Honestly, I think what I’m getting at is, Givenchy’s got this rep for being super high-end, which is totally true. But it also seems like they’re trying to sneak in some comfy-chic stuff too. Maybe? I dunno. The prices are still bonkers, tho.
And that “Givenchy on Sale” bit? Don’t even get me started. It’s like finding a unicorn that’s also a trust fund baby. Rare and probably still expensive.
