You see them everywhere, from those classic Speedy bags – the Murakami ones are *so* fetch, even if they’re a re-edition (like, come on, LV, give us something truly new!) – to the more modern crossbody bags. And honestly, I kinda get the appeal.
Like, that Monogram canvas? It’s everywhere, which is kinda the point. It’s a statement. “Hey, look at me, I’m carrying Louis Vuitton!” And tbh, sometimes I am a victim of that need for validation. I want the recognition.
And they got the totes too! Like, the Mon Monogram where you can totally customize it with your initials? A bit extra, maybe, but if you’re gonna drop that kind of cash, why not go all out? I mean, if you’re ballin’ on a budget, you get your monogram on a key chain, a girl can dream.
But, okay, let’s be real. Are they *worth* the price tag? That’s, like, the million-dollar question (well, maybe not a million, but still… a LOT). It depends. If you’re looking for something that’s gonna last and you genuinely love the design, then maybe. But if you’re just buying it to impress people… maybe rethink that purchase, honey.
I’ve always been partial to the crossbody bags, myself. They’re just so practical! And the monogram adds a touch of, like, *oomph* to any outfit. Plus, you can sling it across your body and, like, not worry about someone snatching it, which is a real concern in some places (you know, when you are out and about, not that I am saying anything about anywhere specific, I am just saying…).
But here’s my biggest problem with them: the price creep. Like, every year, the prices go up and up and up. Are they really *that* much better quality than they were five years ago? I dunno. I suspect it’s mostly just clever marketing.
And then there are the limited-edition designs. Those are tempting, I gotta admit. You see a new color, a new material, and suddenly your brain is like, “I *need* that! It’s *different*!” But then you remember you have a perfectly good LV bag at home already. The internal struggle is real.
Honestly, I think it comes down to personal preference. If you have the money and you love the look, go for it. But don’t feel pressured to buy one just because everyone else has one. There are tons of other amazing designer bags out there (and some pretty darn good dupes, too, if you’re into that kinda thing. Not that I would condone that… totally!).
Plus, and this is just me, but I love seeing someone rock a vintage LV. It shows you’ve got style and that you appreciate the history of the brand. That’s way cooler than just buying the latest It bag, in my humble opinion. Also, I love the looping monogram, it is just a vibe.
